January marks Green Trust’s first five-year anniversary!On 23 January 2014, Jeroen and Klaas founded Green Trust with six employees. Tijmen joined the team as co-owner in 2015. The past five years have been certainly been eventful.

Growth
Over the past five years, Green Trust has grown in many different ways. The company has increased in size, from six employees in 2014 to 25 in 2019, a new office was opened in Croatia, and with every passing year we added great projects to our portfolio, such as Windpark Krammer and Windpark Zeewolde to name a few.

Knowledge sharing
Sharing knowledge is a key priority for Green Trust. In our pursuit of knowledge sharing we have launched several initiatives, including the Green Trust Academy. The Academy is a series of lectures on important topics in the world of wind energy. The lectures are open to all. Another initiative is the Green Trust & Friends Day. This informative and networking event has grown into an annual tradition among the Green Trust community.

Sporty and social
We have also made some changes to promote the health and well-being of our people. No less than two ping pong tables have been permanently set up, and table tennis tournaments have now become somewhat of a tradition among staff members. We also encourage team members to take part in the Horaloop, an annual running event held in Ede. We are proud that many team members sign up for the race each year. This year’s race was even won by Green Truster Peter!

Toast
Our fifth anniversary was celebrated with a cooking workshop for the entire team. A special Green Trust gin & tonic was made, after which we all raised our glasses in a toast to our fifth anniversary. Other events and celebrations will follow in the coming months.

Future
In a mere five years’ time, Green Trust has quadrupled in size into a full-service agency for the development, construction and management of renewable energy projects, with all areas of expertise under one roof. However, one thing has remained unchanged: our passion for sustainable energy and the will to work together in accelerating the energy transition. Through the Green Trust Academy and by working with local energy cooperatives and citizens’ initiatives, we are confident we can make even more progress in the next five years!
